When: Thu., Oct. 26, 7 p.m. 2017
Tony Stewart and Norm Gissel of the Kootenai County Task Force on Human Relations will share how Idahoans organized a successful counter movement to decades of virulent white supremacist activism in their state. People united around strategies that produced many victories for social justice, including new legislation, school programs and curriculum, partnerships with law enforcement, business, media, and faith communities, large diverse rallies, and a $6.3 million court judgment against the Aryan Nations. Utilizing their experience, they will share strategies useful for Boiseans today. Parking in Lincoln garage. Sponsored by the Marilyn Shuler Human Rights Initiative at Boise State as part of Human Rights Week.
