Frim Fram ... Three
Jazz guitarist and helluva nice guy Tom Moore is hitting the dusty trail. Moore has been a member of Frim Fram Four--a fixture on the Boise music scene--for the past five years and we wish him only the very best. The Frim fellas have made Pengilly's a second home and that is where, with tears in our eyes and a catch in our throats, we will raise our glasses, wish him luck in his future endeavors and bid Moore adieu. Join us, won't you?
July 27, 7:30 p.m.-midnight, Pengilly's Saloon, 513 Main St.
Skin Is So In
This year's Idaho Tattoo Expo happens Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Along with miles of inked flesh--and choppers and fire breathing and sword swallowing and a kids' area (?)--there will be a glorious amount of music by the likes of Final Underground, Paylface, OCD, Novice, Factory Air, LGE, Thoughtless People, Charity Case, Jeremiah James, Blacktooth Grin, Brother Bob, Mortal Enemy and Vexengine.
July 28: 2-10 p.m.; July 29: 11 a.m.-10 p.m.; July 30: 11 a.m.-8 p.m.; $15 per day or $30 for a three-day pass, Expo Idaho (a.k.a. the Fairgrounds).
Sure it's hot outside, but a little heat won't stop you from having a good time, now will it? Of course not.
The first Sawtooth Music Festival happens July 29 from noon until dark at Pioneer Park in Stanley. Performers include Free Peoples, Blue Turtle Seduction, Trio Pinto, Marcus Eaton, Fred Crabtree, Ryan Peck, Kris Doty and Travis and Ali Ward. Proceeds benefit the Stanley Community School. Another hot event is the Ninth Annual Caldwell Blues in the Park. On August 11, Randy Oxford, Carlos del Junco and James Solberg play at 7 p.m. at Creekside Grill and Music of the Vine. On August 12, head over to Caldwell Memorial Park to hear Studebaker John and the Hawkes, Richard Soliz and Ken Harris, Underscore, Bobby Lindstrom Band and the Randy Oxford Band. Later that night, the Boise Blues Society hosts an all-star jam session at Victor's Hogs-n-Horns. Tickets are $10 per day and are available from the Caldwell Chamber of Commerce.
