- Alisha Yeates, 27, is charged with seven counts of lewd conduct with a minor under 16.
The Idaho State Journal reports 27-year-old Alisha Yeates is accused of lewd conduct with two female former students. Yeates is free on $50,000 bond and is set for a Bingham County court hearing Tuesday, Aug. 18.
Prosecutors say the charges stem from incidents occurring between 2012 and 2014 in both Bannock and Bingham counties. If convicted, Yeates faces the possibility of life in prison.
Yeates has been accused of abuse before. The State Journal reports court documents reveal allegations of abuse dating back to 2011, and a second alleged victim told authorities earlier this year that when she was 13, she was in a relationship with Yeates, saying the former soccer coach had even bought them matching rings inscribed with the word "forever."
Officials in the Blackfoot School District would not comment on the matter to the State Journal other than to confirm Yeates left the district in December of 2013, the same year Yeates led the Blackfoot High school girl's soccer team to the state tournament for the first time in eight years.
