Geothermal expert Roy Mink will lead a trip to Neal Hot Springs geothermal electric generation plant west of Vale, Ore., to learn the geologic and hydrothermal requirements for power generation. U.S. Geothermal requires sturdy shoes or boots, as well as long pants and regular length shirts. Trip registers at Winco in Meridian off I-84 (Exit 44) at 7:30 a.m. to depart at 8 a.m. Return to Boise by 5 p.m. Take lunch and water. Sponsored by Idaho Museum of Mining and Geology.
