"A dream is a microscope through which we look at the hidden occurrences in our soul." Erich Fromm
Dear Dream Zone, In my dream I am waiting to have surgery. Apparently, the place had just been sprayed for cockroaches. The orderlies begin to lob gas pellets at me that are supposed to make me go to sleep, but it doesn't work and I am afraid that they will do surgery on me while Im awake. I notice a large, dead, bloody dog and then I wake up! Carol 57, Erie, MI
Lauri: The surgery you are waiting for indicates that some situation in your life needs to be repaired or removed. Cockroaches are known for being able to survive a nuclear war, so this may be about something thats been bugging you lately and has been difficult for you to exterminate. The ineffective gas pellets mean you are fully aware of what needs to be done. Unfortunately, the "procedure" of "removing" this situation from your life is probably going to be painful. The dead bloody dog is a very significant symbol. Dogs symbolize loyalty, companionship and friendship. Is there a particular relationship that has been bleeding you dry emotionally? Your dream is telling you its time to let this thing die so you can move on.
Carol replies: There is a friend in my life that I am in the process of having to pull away from. She is very manipulative. The relationship is nearly over but still breathing slightly! This really pulls it all together for me. Its absolute confirmation that I HAVE to end this relationship! I cant tell you how much I appreciate your insight. This has been such a difficult issue for me.
