Empty Bowls 2018

Friday, Nov. 23, the Grove Plaza

by

After putting away a Thanksgiving smorgasboard of turkey, stuffing, green bean casserole, marshmallow-topped sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce and a dozen other dishes, there's nothing more appealing for lunch on Black Friday than a bowl of soup. To make that happen and keep the giving spirit rolling, head to Grove Plaza for one of our favorite events of the year: The Idaho Foodbank's Empty Bowls. The concept is simplicity itself. People show up and choose their favorite of more than 3,000 hand-painted ceramic bowls starting at $10 each, then fill them with hot soup donated by local restaurants and start spooning happily, knowing the proceeds will fund the Idaho Foodbank's mission of keeping every Idahoan fed. To top things off, they'll let you keep the bowl. What's not to love?
