UPDATE: Eagle Little League Team In Northwest Region Championship

The Wilshire-Riverside (Portland, Oregon) Little League team defeated Eagle's West Valley Little League squad Saturday afternoon in the Northwest Championship Game in San Bernardino, California. Wilshire-Riverside advances to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

The pride of Eagle, Idaho, is only one game away from advancing to the Little League World Series.

More than a few fans will tune into ESPN at 1 p.m. EST on Saturday, Aug. 15 to watch Eagle's West Valley Little League baseball team take on the Wilshire-Riverside (Portland, Ore.) team for the Northwest Regional championship game, in San Bernardino, Calif.

The West Valley team defeated Cascade (Vancouver, Washington) 8-7 in the Aug.14 semifinal.

More than 7,000 teams—6,500 from the United States—participate in the LLWS regional competitions. Most have been eliminated, and only eight regional and eight international teams make it all the way to the World Series tournament, which begins Thursday, Aug. 20 in Williamsport, Penn.
