On Saturday, Feb. 13, drivers around downtown Boise may notice hundreds of people running around in red and pink underwear.
The annual Cupid's Undie Run will cause temporary road closures on portions of Sixth and Main streets.
The race starts at Sixth and Main, runs east on Main to Fourth Street, turns north on Fourth to Idaho Street, west on Idaho to 10th Street, south on 10th to Main, west on Main and ends back at Sixth and Main.
Race organizers are expecting around 600 scantily-clad people to run, skip and dance through the streets.
The road closures begin at 11 a.m. and will last until 4 p.m. The party starts at noon, with the fun run beginning at 2 p.m. The race is a fundraiser for the Children's Tumor Foundation and raised more than $3.5 million last year. This year, the goal is $5 million.
As if getting mostly naked and running through downtown Boise in the middle of February isn't appealing enough, this is your chance to win custom skivvies, embroidered bathrobes and Timbuk2 packs.
Once the Undie Run is over, downtown commuters can expect another road closure on Main Street from Ninth Street to Capitol Boulevard from Monday, Feb. 15 to Saturday, Feb. 20 for crane work and construction on the City Center Plaza on the Grove.
