Richard Hammond is a high-speed Englishman best known as the presenter of the long-running, highly acclaimed British television series about cars Top Gear.
On his new web show, Hammond is quick to admit that he is fascinated by technology: "I love gadgets, gizmos and that little thing that you control your computer with."
But Hammond knows little about how gadgets work and has a hard time keeping up with the changes constantly happening in technology. So the self-proclaimed "technoramus" will look at everything from "Twitter to toasters, tanks and telephones" and while he's learning about them, will try to help viewers understand them, too. Hammond will also look beyond the gizmos. In the episode "Tech Stress," Hammond talks about the stress people suffer due to the gadgets that are supposed to make their lives easier:
"I wake up before my alarm because I use my mobile phone, and I'm afraid it won't go off."
The show will last 20 episodes and with the happy Hammond hosting the three-minute episodes, even the most technologically challenged will be able to follow.
