- Bingham Memorial Hospital
The embattled CEO of an eastern Idaho hospital has resigned.
Louis Kraml, who served as an executive at Bingham Memorial Hospital in Blackfoot for more than 15 years, was once scrutinized by the Idaho attorney general's office following the accusation he illegally wiretapped hospital staff.
In 2013, Kraml entered an Alford plea on a lesser charge of misdemeanor stalking and was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine and serve 100 hours of community service. KIDK-TV reports Kraml was also the subject of an investigation into alleged misuse of hospital credit cards.
The latest controversy came amid a lawsuit from the hospital against members of its own board of directors, alleging they met without consent or knowledge or other directors. KIDK-TV reports the suit was dismissed shortly after Kraml's resignation.
In the meantime, KIDK-TV reports two new members have been elected to the board of directors, but hospital officials are remaining mum on the issue of Kraml's resignation, saying it's a personnel matter.
