Death Week

Join the Library at Collister to discuss different ways to prepare for our inevitable mortality.
Tuesday, Nov. 15: Author visit with Kate Riley, who will discuss her book Launching Vee’s Chariot: An End-of Life Tale.
Wednesday, Nov. 16: Dinner and a Book. Join local writer, artist, body image activist and death historian Amy Pence-Brown as she reads some of the best books from the library collection introducing children to the difficult concept of death in an age-appropriate and heartfelt way. Registration required.
Thursday, Nov. 17: Exploring Life and Death through Art. Amy Nack of Wingtip Press will be on hand to help you create your own life map, with memorable moments, destinations (real and imagined) and lifelong dreams using a vocabulary of personal symbols, watercolors and sharpies. Then the map will be deconstructed and reassembled as a small journal with a cover. Choose from an assortment of papers or feel free to take your own favorite paper if you like. Registration is required.
