Cynthia Hand Visits Rediscovered Books for First Thursday

An Idaho author talks Christmas ghosts

Idaho author and Boise State University adjunct professor Cynthia Hand is something of a  local celebrity; she made the New York Times bestseller list with her young adult trilogy Unearthly, which includes three books and a novella, and has since published the heartbreaking novel The Last Time We Said Goodbye and the collaborative historical comedy My Lady Jane. However it’s Hand’s latest novel, one a bit more in the Christmas spirit, that will bring her to Rediscovered Books for on author visit on First Thursday, Dec. 7. This October, Hand released The Afterlife of Holly Chase, the story of a teenage girl stuck playing the role of the Ghost of Christmas Past and watching over the world she left behind. Stop by between 6 and 8 p.m. to hear more about the book, pick up a copy and have it signed by the author herself.
