What may be the Gem State's most controversial Christmas light display blazed forth in a northern Idaho neighborhood Wednesday night, as Jeremy Morris threw the switch illuminating a 22-person choir, the Grinch, Santa and plenty of other characters at his Hayden, Idaho home. Morris even brought in a live camel for his nativity scene.
In early November, Morris' neighborhood homeowners association threatened
legal action against him if visitors to his display tangled traffic through their streets. Morris responded by likening his neighbors to the Grinch, saying, "Those scaly green creatures sometimes show their heads at Christmastime."
KREM-TV reports Morris on Dec. 16 went ahead with his Christmas display, which includes thousands of lights and even hot chocolate for some of the visitors. Morris said he's even accepting charitable donations which he'll distribute to his community's children's organizations.
