This is a good week for comedy fans in Boise. Just one day after Paula Poundstone appears at The Egyptian Theatre, Los Angeles-based stand-up comic Rhea Butcher will take the floor at The Balcony on Friday, Jan. 18, to keep Boise rolling. Butcher is perhaps best-known for co-starring in the television series Take My Wife with fellow comic Cameron Esposito; it was a norm-busting show that mirrored the lesbian couple's real life as stand-up comedians and small business owners (outside of fiction, they hosted the comic-focused podcast Put Your Hands Together). Butcher's self-proclaimed "blue-collar brand of cool" also earned them a spot as one of Variety's Top 10 Comics To Watch in 2017, and their debut comedy album, Butcher (Kill Rock Stars, 2016), seized the No. 1 spot on iTunes. Don't miss this chance to see Butcher—and local opener Emma Arnold—in action.
