The Boise City Council is being asked to approve amendments to City Code that would ban dogs and other domestic pets from the Hyatt Hidden Lakes Reserve, Marianne Williams Park and Boise Depot.
Parks and Recreation said pets would be allowed along the Greenbelt Pathway that borders the south end of Marianne Williams Park near the Boise River, but wants to prohibit dogs and other domestic pets from the rest of the park.
Additionally, according to an internal memo from Parks and Rec, "confusion has arisen regarding the present prohibition of dogs in Platt Gardens, contiguous to the Boise Depot. ... To clarify the issue, the [Parks and Recreation] Commission and the Department recommend that the Code be amended to prohibit dogs at any time both at the Boise Depot and Platt Gardens."
The department also wants to update City Code to prohibit domestic pets at all times from City-owned cemeteries.
