To date, 21 athletes have been invited to compete in three events, Men's and Women's Skateboard and BMX Park, during the Road to X Games 2019, which will take place Friday and Saturday, June 28 and 29.
The qualifier will attract skaters and bikers from as near as Boise and as far as Japan. This will be Boisean Dalton Beeson's third time skating for a chance to compete at the X Games finals in Minneapolis, Minnesota—this time alongside Olympic halfpipe silver medalist and X Games Snowboard SuperPipe gold medalist Ayumu Hirano from Japan.
According to the city, other athletes to watch include Mesa, Arizona-based skater Jagger Eaton; 10-year-old Japanese skater Sky Brown of Miyazaki, Japan; and Mikel Larrin, a BMX rider from Racine, Wisconsin.
The qualifier will last two days, but there are a few standout events. On June 28, don't miss BMX Park Elimination from 10-11:30 a.m.; Women's Skateboard Park Elimination from 12:30-2 p.m.; and Men's Skateboard Park Elimination from 3-4:30 p.m.
The final rounds in each event will be on June 29, with BMX Park Final from 12:30-2 p.m., Women's Skateboard Park Finals from 2:30-4 p.m. and Men's Skateboard Park Final from 4:30-6 p.m.
X Games qualifiers are free and open to the public, but tickets to special bleacher seating will be available at the City of Boise's X Games website in the next few weeks. Folks who can't make it to the park to see the action live can catch it online as a livestream on the X Games Facebook page and YouTube channel, and again on ABC as part of the World of X Games program on Saturday, July 6.
