CHOIR TEACHER TO SING CORRECTIONAL CHORAL

An Ada County jury has found a former Centennial High School choir teacher guilty of grand theft from the coffers of the school choir and booster clubs. Deanna L. Sienknecht of Meridian was convicted on January 7 following a brief four-day trial during which the Meridian School District Controller reportedly testified that as much as $20,000 of Centennial choir and booster funds were unaccounted for.

On the morning of January 18, Sienknecht was also nabbed by Ada County Sheriffs for felony failure to appear in court. Ada County Prosecutors did not return calls about any additional charges resulting from this arrest, but Sienknecht will be sentenced for her theft on February 16.
