If humans are 60 percent water and watermelons are 92 percent water, does that mean people are only 32 percent away from being fruit? If you really want to know, JUMP might be the best place to find out.

Join JUMP staff at 5 p.m. on First Thursday, Aug. 3, to celebrate National Watermelon Day with free samples and first-come, first-served small bites for $5. To complete the summer watermelon-eating experience, JUMP is also offering family friendly games on the lawn, music from by local indie-rock/pop/country trio Minor Paradox and free salsa dancing lessons.

According to the National Calendar Day website, which keeps a running inventory of American holidays, the best way to make your National Watermelon Day one for the books is to enjoy a slice of watermelon and post a photo of your juicy treat on social media using #NationalWatermelonDay.

5 p.m., FREE-$5. JUMP, 1000 W. Myrtle St., 208-639-6610, jumpboise.org.
