Climate change may be a source of controversy among Idaho politicians, but at Bogus Basin, it's a matter of fact, and in recent years, Boise's hometown ski hill has started to pivot into an all-season resort.
The change has included beefing up its spring, summer and fall activities. When there isn't snow on the ground, thousands of visitors to the nonprofit recreation area go to mountain bike and run on the trails, rock climb, use the bungee trampoline and get married.
Its most recent addition is The Glade Runner, an alpine mountain coaster ride that opened to the public in December 2017. Riders hop into carts built for two and blast down 4,330 feet of winding track, over the hills and through the woods at speeds of more than 25 miles per hour. It also offers spectacular views, so non-speed demons can slow down their carts to see the sights.>
