The "King of Beers" wants to step up its game this summer, changing its name from "Budweiser" to "America."

More than a few industry analysts thought the news from AdAge was a joke Tuesday morning, but Anheuser Busch officials confirmed they have filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau to alter their label to "America" through the summer and early fall until the November general election.

In addition to "America," Budweiser manufacturers also want to include "Land of the Free," "Home of the Brave" and "From the Redwood Forest to the Gulf Stream Waters This Land Was Made For You and Me."  No joke.

Anheuser-Busch is owned by a beer conglomerate based in Belgium and Brazil.

It didn't take long for Twitter to erupt:

"Oh, Lord, please don't let them re-name Guiness 'Ireland' or Corona 'Mexico,'" tweeted @michaeldb.

"Really? Have we not suffered enough? #craftbeer," tweeted @northwoodsbeerguy.

"Make America Bud again?" tweeted @arnhemsejongens.

"Not even the Trumpiest of Trumps could make Bud great again," tweeted @YesThatShawn.
