- The new Broadway Bridge will have six vehicle lanes, new bike lanes and 10-foot-wide sidewalks.
Pointing to safety concerns, ITD officials said they'll close off the section of the river in order to demolish and remove the existing bridge. Only saying the area would be closed for "several months," ITD added it hopes reopen the section of river this summer. Until further notice, ITD said anyone floating the river to Ann Morrison Park will need to exit at the West Parkcenter Bridge, follow the Greenbelt detour and reenter the river west of Friendship Bridge.
ITD expects replacing the 50-year-old Broadway Bridge should take around nine months and cost approximately $20.2 million. The new span will have six vehicle lanes, new bike lanes better access to the Boise Greenbelt and 10-foot-wide sidewalks.
