Boise residents who live in or near the Vista neighborhood, Federal Way and the Boise Depot were alerted this morning by Boise police and officials at Boise State University to a man described as "an armed suicidal subject" in the Boise Depot and Federal Way area.

Boise police stated they were looking for a "53-year-old white male with gray hair, blue eyes, a beard, approximately 5-foot 10-inches tall and weighing 240 pounds, wearing a dark blue do-rag and blue jeans."

Police asked residents in the area to take extra precaution and notify 911 if they spot a man meeting that description.

"At this time, the campus does not appear to be in any danger related to this incident," Boise State officials stated.

UPDATE: Boise Police notified residents in the neighborhood later in the day July 12th that the situation had been diffused and that the alert was over.

If you or someone you know is in emotional distress or suicidal crisis, call 1-800-273-TALK.
