An Ada County jury has convicted a Boise man of the September 2015 shooting death of another man near the Boise Depot.

Police responding to a call of a shot fired near the depot in the evening hours of Sept. 23, 2015, found 24-year-old Zacheriah Peterson with a shotgun wound to the chest. He was rushed to a local hospital where he died a short time later.

Brandon Bahr, 24, was angry because his ex-girlfriend was dating Peterson, prosecutors said, adding Bahr stole a handgun and arranged to meet Peterson at the depot. Bahr, wearing a bandana to disguise his identity, shot Peterson a short time later. Police began an intense search and the next morning, they arrested Bahr in Meridian.

On April 22, a jury convicted Bahr on charges of first degree murder, grand theft and petit theft. At his sentencing hearing on Friday, June 24, Bahr could get life in prison.
