Seven-term Republican Idaho State Rep. Darrell Bolz says he's ready to step away from the Statehouse.

Bolz, who serves Caldwell's Legislative District 10, says he "feels it's time to give someone else the opportunity to serve."

Bolz was first elected to the Idaho House in 2000, when he unseated incumbent GOP Rep. Dorothy Reynolds, and won re-election six more times, most recently against Democratic challenger Angel Zeimantz in the 2012 election.

The 70-year-old Bolz is a member of the all-important Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee, as well as the House Agricultural and Judiciary, and Rules and Administration committees. He's a retired agricultural extension agent.
