Saturday's Boise State Commencement Part of a Busy Graduation Season

Boise State University will honor the class of 2015 at its spring commencement on Saturday, May 9, featuring the traditional recognition of graduates and hooding of doctoral candidates.

Soon-to-be-graduate Yara Slaton, of Boise, will pick up a degree in international business with a minor in Arabic studies. She'll also be the student speaker at the 10 a.m. ceremony inside Taco Bell Arena. In addition to her studies, both at home and abroad, Slaton worked at the Idaho Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence and was awarded a prestigious year-long fellowship at RESULTS, an anti-poverty advocacy group.

Meanwhile, in Moscow, the University of Idaho is preparing for its spring commencement on Saturday, May 16. The number of U of I graduates statewide is 1,536, including students in Moscow, Boise, Idaho Falls and Coeur d'Alene (The Boise campus held its spring ceremony on May 6). The U of I College of Law, which will hand out 80 degrees this year, will also hold its graduation ceremony on May 16.

The College of Idaho will celebrate its graduating class with its commencement on Saturday, May 16. 

Idaho State University's commencement will take place Saturday, May 9 inside Pocatello's Holt Arena.

The College of Western Idaho's graduation will take place at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, inside the Taco Bell Area on the campus of Boise State.

Commencement for the College of Southern Idaho will be held on the evening of Friday, May 15 at the Twin Falls campus.

Meanwhile the Boise School District will launch its very busy high-school graduation calendar on Wednesday, May 20, when the young ladies from Boise's Marian Pritchett School pick up their diplomas. Five more Boise high-school graduations will take place over the following nine days.
