New data from realtor.com
indicates that the Boise metro area continues to be one of the hottest real estate marketplaces
in the U.S. In fact, statistics from May reveal that the median age of housing inventory in the Treasure Valley is 31 days, making it the sixth most-active market in the U.S., behind only Midland, Texas; Boston; San Francisco; Columbus, Ohio, and Vallejo, California. Only two months ago, the Top 10 list was dominated by California markets.
Realtor.com indicates that the median listing for houses in the Boise metro area in May was $334,495. There were 2,091 homes on the market last month, a four percent drop from April, and a 28 percent plummet compared to the same period a year ago.
Rounding out the Top 10 "hottest" markets in the U.S. were Stockton, California; Buffalo, New York; Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Fort Wayne, Indiana.
