A California woman is behind bars, charged with a felony count of drug trafficking following a traffic stop by Boise Police.

BPD officers stopped a vehicle on Saturday, May 5, after they said the driver was failing to maintain a lane and was driving recklessly near Benjamin Lane and Frankling Road. While speaking with the driver, police said they smelled an odor of marijuana, prompting their deployment of a police K9. The police dog eventually discovered more than 16 pounds of marijuana in plastic bags, with some of the marijuana processed with a higher potency of THC. Police suspect that the woman, with a home address in Redding, California, had made multiple trips from California to Boise with large amounts of marijuana.

Twenty-six-year-old Priscilla Brooks was booked into the Ada County jail on a charge of drug trafficking in marijuana.
