A Caldwell woman has been charged with felonies in the wake of an officer-involved shooting incident.

March 3, Boise Police responded to a call at a residence on the Boise Bench, where they found an adult woman behaving erratically. When the woman displayed what officers believed was a firearm, an officer fired on the suspect, who was not hit. The suspect was later taken into custody. There were no injuries during the incident.

During the investigation that followed, the weapon the suspect reportedly brandished was discovered to be a replica of a large-caliber handgun. The officer who discharged her weapon was patrol officer Michelle Havens. She has been a member of the BPD for two years. As per department protocol, she has been placed on a three-day administrative leave.

Jennie Timmons, 38, of Caldwell, has been charged with three felony counts of aggravated assault and one felony count of unlawful discharge of a weapon, though other charges may be brought against her as the investigation into the incident continues.

The Ada County Critical Incident Task Force is investigating yet another officer-involved shooting, fewer than two weeks after an Ada County sheriff's deputy wounded former Intermountain Gas CEO Kenneth Morehouse, who prosecutors say may have been attempting "suicide by cop."

In the most recent incident, Boise police responded March 3 at approximately 9:40 p.m. to a call at a residence near the intersection of Clinton and Roosevelt streets on the Boise Bench. That's where they found an adult woman behaving erratically, and who did not respond to officers' attempts to contact her.

Police reported the woman displayed what they believed to be a firearm. She was fired on by an unidentified officer, but not hit. The suspect fled on foot, but was eventually taken into custody. There were no injuries.

In a separate incident, Boise Police officers served a warrant the evening of March 2 on suspected narcotics dealers at a home near the intersection of Orchard and Kootenai streets, again on the Boise Bench.

After a two-month investigation by the Boise Area Narcotics and Drug Interdiction Team (BANDIT), officers entered the home and seized more than 43 grams of heroin and more than 2 grams of methamphetamine. The suspects were taken into custody without incident.
