UPDATE: Suspect Jailed, Accused in Gun-Wielding Incident in Boise Parking Lot

Boise Police said late Wednesday that a suspect had been identified and charged with aggravated assault in connection with a gun-wielding incident in a Boise parking lot. BPD said a tip led officers to the 1000 block of S. Hilton Street. That's where, working alongside a U.S. Marshalls Task Force, law enforcement the suspect, but he initially refused to surrender.  After some negotiations, the suspect was ultimately taken into custody Wednesday afternoon.

46-year-old James Bartley of Boise was booked into the Ada County Jail, where he's being held with no bond on a felony charge of aggravated assault.

Boise Police are looking
for help from the public in identifying a suspect in a late night assault in a Boise parking lot. Police said the the incident occurred around 11 p.m. in a parking lot near Orchard Street and Overland Road. That's where a man told police he had gone to check on the condition of a male suspect, but when the suspect began yelling at the man, the man began recording the incident with his smartphone.  The man told police that the suspect pulled a hand gun from his shirt and pointed it at the man.

BPD released images from the smartphone video Monday afternoon, and asked anyone with information about the identity of the suspect to call Crime Stoppers at 208-343-COPS.
