The operation included two 18-year-old minors who used their real IDs to test merchants' compliance checks.
The citations included:
- Nine misdemeanors issued to adults accused of purchasing alcohol for minors
- Seven store employees for selling alcohol to minors
- Three minors for possession of alcohol
- One adult cited for an open-container citation.
"This is something that is very important to our officers because we’ve seen alcohol cause accidents that take away the dreams and futures of young people and change families’ lives forever.” Said Officer Jermaine Galloway, Boise Police Alcohol Compliance Officer. "We've seen alcohol play a big part in causing traffic accidents, injuries, and even deaths in young people."
