- Boone Hallmark, 31, is charged with two counts of involuntary vehicular manslaughter.
A Boise man has bonded out of the Ada County Jail after being arrested on charges in connection with a 2014 crash that killed a woman and 2-year-old boy.
Boone Hallmark, 31, is charged with two misdemeanor counts of involuntary vehicular manslaughter.
Idaho State Police said Hallmark was behind the wheel of a PT Cruiser on July 2, 2014, when he fell asleep and his vehicle plunged into the Lochsa River.
Hallmark was able to escape and, according to police, attempted to rescue his passengers but was carried away by the river's current.
It was two days after the crash that the bodies of Rushing and her 2-year-old son were pulled from the water.
There had been an active warrant for Hallmark's arrest in Idaho County and, more than two years after the incident, an Ada County Sheriff's deputy came into contact with Hallmark while responding to a suspicious car report July 17 on North Horseshoe Bend Road.
Hallmark was booked into the Ada County Jail where records indicate he was released on a $2,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday, Aug. 2.
