Boise Farmers Market Will Offer Downtown 'Market Bee' Shuttle to and from its New Location

When the Boise Farmers Market announced it would move from its previous home at 10th and Grove streets to a new location at 1500 Shoreline Drive for the 2019 season, some patrons expressed concern about being unable to walk back and forth between BFM and Capital City Public Market, a stroll that had become a Saturday routine.

"Now you have to choose, and I prefer to hangout downtown," Facebook user Sally Davies commented when Boise Weekly shared the story on Facebook Feb. 14.

Fortunately for shoppers like Davies, BFM has unveiled a solution: a shuttle in the form of a yellow school bus nicknamed "The Market Bee."

The bus will ferry passengers from BFM's Shoreline Drive location to Eighth Street in downtown Boise and back from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (when it will make its final stop on Eighth Street) each Saturday, enabling them to shop both markets without worrying about parking in the busy downtown core.

"There will be a Market Bee A-frame near the loading and unloading area," BFM wrote in its latest newsletter. "Ask any vendor, volunteer or staff member if you can't find it."

Boise Farmers Market will open for the season on Saturday, April 6.
