Boise City Dept. of Arts and History Awards Grants

For its fiscal year 2015, the Boise City Department of Arts and History recently awarded grants of up to $5,000 from its Arts and History Grant Fund program to the 20 different organizations and individuals listed below:

    Adrian Kien: $5,000, Storyfort 2015 showcase of authors and storytellers
    Ballet Idaho: $2,500, Learning Through Dance arts education program
    Basque Museum and Cultural Center: $3,000, Basque Music of Boise, featuring traditional and contemporary genres
    Big Tree Arts: $5,000, Loud Writers’ Project and Slam of Steel
    Boise Blues Society: $1,000, Blues in the Schools program
    Boise Contemporary Theater: $3,000, BCT Theater Lab for students ages 12-18 years
    Boise Baroque Orchestra: $5,000, Support for administrative operations and performers
    Boise Philharmonic: $5,000, Chamber Music in Sacred Spaces series
    Carissa Sindon: $3,000, SEEN, photography project and exhibit
    Elizabeth Rodgers: $5,000, Mini-documentaries exploring creative people in Boise
    Ghosts & Projectors: $3,000, Quarterly poetry reading series with local and touring poets
    Global Lounge: $5,000, World Village event featuring artists, performers, crafts, and workshops
    Idaho Office for Refugees: $2,000, World Refugee Day
    Idaho Shakespeare Festival: $5,000, Expanding access to performances and student programs
    Idaho Writers’ Guild: $4,000, Idaho Writers and Readers Rendezvous
    Michael Hartwell and Michael Baltzell: $5,000, Original theater performance based on The Fisherman and His Soul
    Opera Idaho: $5,000, Production of Tchaikovsky’s opera, Evgeny Onegin
    Preservation Idaho: $4,000, Programs and interpretive information support materials
    The Peregrine Fun’s World Center: $2,000, Exhibit of local history and the evolution of the conservation movement for Birds of Prey
    Wingtip Press: $4,000, Workshops and artists-in-residence program
