UPDATE: Boise Child Expected to Make Full Recovery After Five-Story Fall

Boise police detectives said Friday that they determined an incident in which a child fell from a fifth-story downtown apartment complex window June 15 was an accident.

Detectives said their investigation had concluded and no charges would be filed. 

The 4-year-old boy remains hospitalized but his condition has stabilized and is expected to make a full recovery. The child's family made a point of thanking the public for their concern and asked for privacy.

A 4-year-old boy was fighting for its life Tuesday evening after falling five stories from a window in a downtown Boise apartment building.

Neighbors called Boise police at approximately 6:15 p.m., minutes after the boy fell from a fifth-story window at the Civic Plaza Apartments on Front Street. The child was rushed to a local hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

BPD has been interviewing neighbors and a parent. The investigation is ongoing.
