Press your lederhosen and put a spit shine on the old stein for Boise’s own celebration of all things beer.
The Boise Beer Fest promises over 100 craft brews from beer vendors, including Idaho favorites like Tablerock, Sockeye, Laughing Dog and Coeur d’Alene Brewing Company and regional staples like Deschutes, Dogfish Head and Full Sail.
If slugging down tons of awesome beer isn’t enough to keep you entertained, the Boise Beer Fest also boasts a full lineup of bands, including Low-fi, The Naughties, the BoDo Brothers and Nathan Moody, as well as a stand-up comedy show, a charity raffle and grub from vendors like Kanak Attack and Jalapenos.
The whole shebang is a fundraiser for Idaho Foodband and every can good you donate at the Beer Fest gets you raffle ticket. Just what's up for the winnings in the raffle? Oh, you know ... the standard Fat Tire cruiser, a Sierra Nevada backpack, a kegerator from Brewtopia Beer Market and a year's worth of free pizza.
Wait a second, did we just say free pizza for a year? Yep. Courtesy of title sponsor Old Chicago. Definitely don't forget the canned goods. Lots of them. You'll want lots of raffle tickets.
Boise Beer Fest is Saturday, Aug. 8, 11 a.m.-8 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 9, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. It's FREE, and it's at Ann Morrison Park. For more information, visit boisebeerfest.com.
