Boise Police responded to reports of a body found floating in a canal Tuesday morning. Witnesses spotted the body in a canal near the northeast corner of Gary Lane and State Street. The man, an adult in his mid-40s, was unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to a BPD press release, investigators said it didn't appear the victim had been in the water long, and there was no immediate evidence of foul play.

While the investigation continues, the identity of the man will be released by the Ada County Coroner's Office pending notification of family.
