incredible show on saturday in Mesilla, NM... after the show we drove 3 1/2 hrs to Albuquerque to get a head start on our drive the next day... stayed in our friend's super cute adobe house and slept till noon
on our drive to Amarillo, TX we finally fulfilled a stated mission at the beginning of tour... eat corndogs!! and believe it or not, it took us until just before the Texas border to find a friggin corndog. we're usually trying to avoid and resist them. so their elusiveness had been quite a mystery. but the wait is over. mission accomplished. not sure where we stand on the mission now. do we eat more corndogs? if possible, i'm guessing yes.
our first show in Texas was pretty unbelievable. packed house on a Sunday night at The 806 in Amarillo. and super pumped crowd. fun fun. Boy Eats Drum Machine slayed and we closed the night out. our friend Abi Robins opened with her tour mates Fishbowl Buttons. it was a convention of awesomeness. the night ended with all of us and most of the crowd that was left holding hands and forming a connection between a light pole and a street sign that sent an electric shock through the whole chain of people... shocked shocked shocked into laughter. it was epic.
we head to San Angelo today. we'll be in Austin tomorrow. trying to get a few more last minute things in place before we dive in to the madness of SXSW.
19th day of tour. 61 days to go. spirits are high!
