It's still an in-between season for winter sports, but the folks at Boise Area Mountain Bike Association, Salvation Army and the Eagle Bike Park think it's a perfect time for a cyclocross race.
The Idaho Waffle Cross Kringle Kross is in its fourth year. The race, which features an all-terrain course and some of the toughest riders you're likely to see anywhere, is sure-fire entertainment for a chilly (but not too chilly) December day.
It's not just for racers, either. It will include costume, van decorating and movie trivia contests, so bring your game face whether you're riding or not.
The race, which takes place at the Eagle Bike Park at the Ada-Eagle Sports Complex, starts at 10 a.m. Organizers provide FREE coffee and Belgian waffles, and $2 Payette Brewing pints, the proceeds from which go to the Salvation Army. Organizers also encourage attendees to bring a new unwrapped toy for the Salvation Army.
