Walk through Capital City Public Market on a Saturday afternoon, and you'll get a pretty good glimpse at what Idaho has to offer in the way of wine. But if you'd like more than a glimpse—like an entire eyeful—of what local wine is all about, head to the Boise Public Library's Collister branch today.
Writer, Journalist and College of Idaho professor Alan Minskoff and photographer Paul Hosefros spent 15 months on the road surveying Idaho's wineries, writing about them and taking pictures. The result of their vino adventures is the book Idaho Wine Country.
The book is exactly what the title suggests: a photo and prose exploration of Idaho's wine industry, complete with details about more than 50 winemakers/grape growers and the process of crafting the beloved beverage.
Minskoff will talk about the book from 7-9 p.m. in the library's Sycamore Room. After the presentation, head over to Salt Tears Coffeehouse and Noshery and enjoy light appetizers, along with libations provided by Joe Schnerr of Cinder Wines, all for FREE to attendees of the book event.
