Early this morning, 140 people waited in line for Savers to unlock its doors. Today is one of the busiest days of the year for the thrift store, which offers a massive 50 percent-off sale four times annually.
Eric Stien has been a manager at Savers at 10475 W. Fairview Ave. for a few years now. He was well-prepared for today’s chaos.
“I have everybody that works for me out there today,” Stien said.
The crew will continue to roll products out all day long, so showing up at 9 a.m. or 6 p.m. still guarantees good finds. The Boise and Nampa locations will both be open until 9 p.m. this evening.
All men's, women's and children’s clothes, shoes, accessories, and bed and bath products are half off today. Housewares, furniture, jewelry and books are all exempt from the sale.
Next to Halloween, Veteran's Day, President's Day, Memorial Day and Labor Day all offer the highest sales for Savers. The quietest time for the store today will be around dinner time.
Stien said clean-up after the doors close will take until Tuesday morning.
