It's not always easy to be original. Ever gone downtown and seen three other people wearing the same shirt you were psyched to find at Urban Outfitters earlier that day? It's a bummer.
Fortunately, there are events like the Boise State Art Metals Program Silent Auction, which give Boiseans the opportunity to purchase pieces that are really one of a kind. This eighth-annual event features jewelry creations from art metals students. Though the show opened on First Thursday, April 5, at R. Grey Gallery Jewelry and Art Glass, the metalicious adornments will remain at the gallery through Monday, April 30.
Today, go cruise the selection of unique jewelry and put a bid in on your faves. Don't be afraid to pony up some cash for the piece you have your heart set on—this is the art metals program's biggest fundraiser, and proceeds from purchases go toward obtaining new tools and materials. The gallery is open from 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, and on Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
You can check out some of the students' pieces that are up for grabs at the gallery's website.
