Boise Police say they charged a man with aggravated battery after the suspect was witnessed choking another man near 10th and Grove streets the night of July 10. According to witnesses, the victim was not conscious and wasn't able to defend himself. Police said the suspect appeared to be very intoxicated and after transporting him to a hospital for treatment, they took the suspect to the Ada County Jail.
Shawn Walstad, who was booked into the lockup with no reported age or known address, was charged with a felony county of aggravated battery.
Early this morning, Boise Police said they served an arrest warrant at a West Boise home after an investigation revealed dangerous conditions involving four children. When officers entered the home, they said they discovered animal feces, piles of trash and urine soaked floors. Additionally, the children had been left without supervision on more than one occasion. The children have been placed into the custody of relatives.
28-year-old Gypsie Akers of Boise is behind bars at the Ada County Jail, charged with felony injury to a child.
