Tribune: Police Begin Rounding Up Suspects in WSU Professor Beating

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the March 30 beating of a Washington State University professor who remains in critical condition.

41-year-old David Warner, a professor of ethnic studies, is still fighting for his life following the attack in a parking lot of the Adams Mall in Pullman, Wash. Eyewitnesses said Warner was trying to break up a fight when he became the victim.

This morning's Lewiston Tribune reports that an anonymous tip led detectives to two WSU students, 21-year-old Madeline Fouts and 23-year-old Joshua Nantz. After questioning, Fouts was charged with a felony count of rendering criminal assistance and Nantz was charged with a felony count of first-degree assault. Police said Fouts is now cooperating with the investigation.

Pullman Police say they also know the names of two other male suspects and are in the process of locating them.
