With today's launch of its website, a new Boise start-up, Be Free Village, evolves from being the winner in the latest B-Launched competition into being a full-fledged enterprise.
Be Free Village, which took home $29,000 in first-place cash, will introduce what it calls "a balanced box of gluten-free products" for travelers, specifically marketed for travelers.
"We are building a virtual community for travelers with food allergy needs, starting with gluten-free consumers," said a Be Free Village representative. "We encourage the local community to engage in our social media, provide feedback on our product offerings, and connect with us as we grow the company."
Prospective entrepreneurs began brain-storming months ago as B-Launched paired the teams with some of the Treasure Valley's most successful business people.
"Our No. 1 mission is to educate Boise young professionals on how to start a company," said Faisal Shah, founder of MarkMonitor and co-founder of B-Launched. "This is not a science project. We're creating real businesses. It's that big of an endeavor."
