It's a fair assumption that Idaho's very Republican congressional delegation isn't thrilled that Barack Obama will again be sworn in as president of the United States Monday, Jan. 21, 2013. Nonetheless, the congressmen are allotted a certain number of tickets to the historic event and will distribute many of them to their constituents.
Requests for the inauguration are being taken through the office of Idaho Sen. Mike Crapo at crapo.senate.gov/contact/inauguration/tickets.cfm.
The deadline to apply is 5 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 21, and there is no charge for the tickets.
Tickets will allow access to specific sections of the Capitol grounds, but tickets are not necessary to view the inauguration ceremony.
Citydesk attended and reported from Obama's first inauguration and definitely suggests grabbing a ticket if you hope to attend. Getting a hotel room anywhere near Washington, D.C., is another matter.
