Twin Falls Man Charged With On-Campus Rape of U of I Student

A former University of Idaho student is behind bars, charged with the Oct. 6 rape of a U of I student on the Moscow campus.

Moscow Police arrested 21-year-old Jesse Vierstra of Twin Falls in connection with the alleged incident, which occurred behind the Sigma Chi fraternity house, according to police. Moscow Police Chief David Duke told KLEW-TV that the victim knew the suspect from working with him at a Twin Falls restaurant.

The victim's family reported the alleged incident to police early Oct. 7, and Vierstra was booked into the Latah County Jail, where he awaits today's arraignment.
