Boise Crime Stats to be Revealed on Tuesday

Boise Police Chief Mike Masterson will go before the Boise City Council Tuesday afternoon to brief lawmakers on the city's crime statistics for 2011.

A year ago, BPD's annual report for 2010 revealed that burglaries, both residential and commercial, hit their lowest level since at least 1980 when the department began keeping records. Additionally, murders, aggravated assault and robbery all dropped.

But a year ago, Masterson said that graffiti continued to be a significant problem, jumping 39 percent in 2010.
