GOP Gadfly Phil Hart Endorses Ron Paul

When Athol Republican Phil Hart grows up, he wants to be Ron Paul.

In addition to their Tea Party ties, the two also share a healthy distrust of the Federal Reserve. Today, Hart formally endorsed Paul as his choice for the Republican presidential nominee.

The four-term state representative, who resigned as vice chairman of the House Transportation Committee a year ago amid ethics complaints surrounding back taxes he owes, had this to say about throwing his support behind Paul:

"Ron Paul is the only candidate who understands our economic problems. He is also the only frontrunner candidate who is not propped up by those who have caused our economic demise."
