Second District Judge John Stegner ruled late Monday that personnel records of Ernesto Bustamante, suspected of killing University of Idaho grad student Katy Benoit, can be released to the media. Bustamante committed suicide the morning after Benoit's murder on Aug. 22.
Stegner ruled that confidentiality of Bustamante, a former U of I professor, ended with his death.
The university is now considering a time line to release public material with lawyers for media outlets. The records reportedly includes thousands of related emails.
