We hate post-holing. Not the act of building a fence. We're talking the "trying to walk across snow and being a little too heavy to stay on top, so you go shooting through the crust and you're left with one leg buried to the thigh and the other on the surface, but when you try to pull your leg out, the other one goes under" post-holing. It's neither graceful nor fun. But here's an easy solution: snowshoes. If you don't already own a pair, rent 'em. Try McU's.
